Add a profit margin to estimate gross profit. ROI appears when you also enter a positive monthly follow-up cost.
Potential revenue is an estimate, not a guarantee. It assumes the quote volume, average value and conversion rate stay constant through the year.
Annual estimate assumes monthly quotes, average value, conversion rate and recovery rate stay constant for 12 months. Industry starting values are illustrative, not benchmarks.
How to calculate your close rate
Your close rate is the share of quotes you sent that turned into booked work. Pick a period, such as the last 3 months, and count the same quotes both ways.
Close rate = quotes won ÷ quotes sent × 100
Example only (lawn care): if you sent 50 quotes and won 22, then 22 ÷ 50 × 100 = 44%. The remaining 28 quotes are unsold. Your own numbers will differ.
Enter your result in the “Current close rate” field above. The calculator treats everything else as unsold and estimates what follow-up could recover. Revenue is potential sales value before costs and taxes.
What counts as an unsold quote
An unsold quote is a quote or estimate you sent that has not been accepted or booked. That includes quotes the customer is still thinking about, ones that went quiet after you sent them, and ones waiting on a decision from someone else. In lawn care, an unsold quote might be a seasonal program or recurring-visit price the customer has not accepted, or a one-time treatment estimate that went quiet.
Lawn care proposals may describe a single treatment, a seasonal program or repeating visits. Choose whether your average quote represents one visit or a broader service term, then keep that unit consistent.

Plain answers about close rates and unsold quotes. Nothing here is a benchmark or a promise of results.
- Can I use recurring lawn care plan values?
- Yes. Enter the quote value on the same basis as your quotes, such as a seasonal plan total, and use that basis consistently when comparing outcomes.
- Are lawn care follow-up outcomes benchmarked here?
- No. Recovery rates are editable planning assumptions. Replace the illustrative values with your own results when you have them.
- How do I calculate my close rate?
- Divide the quotes you won by the quotes you sent in the same period, then multiply by 100. For example, 12 won out of 30 sent is a 40% close rate. Use the same time window for both numbers.
- What is a good close rate for Lawn care businesses?
- It varies by trade, job size, pricing and how many quotes go to customers who are only comparing options. Rather than chase a single number, calculate your own close rate each month and watch whether it moves when you change how you follow up.
- How can follow-up improve my close rate?
- An unsold quote is not always a no. A customer may still be deciding, waiting on someone else or holding an unanswered question. A short, specific follow-up that answers a question and offers a clear next step makes it easy to reply. Results vary and are never guaranteed.
- How does the quote recovery calculator work?
- It estimates unsold quotes from your monthly quote volume and close rate, then applies your assumed recovery rate to estimate recovered jobs and potential revenue.
- Is the estimate guaranteed?
- No. Results are estimates based on the assumptions you enter. Actual outcomes depend on your customers, quotes, follow-up and other factors.
- What does recovery rate mean?
- Recovery rate is the percentage of currently unsold quotes you expect to win after follow-up.
